We are the Global Affairs Research and Development Epicenter Nepal (GARDEN)
The Global Affairs Research and Development Epicenter Nepal (GARDEN) is an independent think tank established in 2022 by young Nepali scholars in International Affairs to explore various aspects/dimensions of International Relations, World Peace and Politics, Regional and International Engagement and Cooperation, International Law and Asian/Human Rights, Economic Development and Prosperity, Infrastructure and National Development, Contemporary/Critical Global Issues and Discourses, Global Warming and Climate Change, Inflow and outflow of migrant workers and implications on country’s economy, Various Knowledge and Research Paradigms, etc. through disciplined research.
Moreover, the institute focuses on program and project design in cooperation with governmental, non-governmental national, and international organizations. Similarly, the institute concentrates on conducting training on project proposal/report writing, academic/proposal writing, dissertations (Masters/M. Phil. /PhD) writing, journal article writing, etc.
Another core area of the institute is to conduct national and international conferences/seminars to build and exchange views on current global affairs among Nepali and various other countries’ experts followed by the post-conference publication and dissemination of the findings.
The fourth aspect of the institute is the publication of books written in the above-mentioned areas, conference proceedings, and publication of policy reports, journals, and magazines.
The fifth aspect of the organization is that it tries to connect the national issues of Nepal with the provincial/local issues on the one hand and with global issues on the other hand based on three-dimensional connectivity (local, national, and global connectivity) approaches. It makes effort to connect Nepal’s local issues with national and global issues. In addition, conducting research and publishing reports on global issues and their impacts on Nepal’s national and local priorities is
another part of its work.
In doing so, the institute cooperates and collaborates with provincial/local governments, universities, developmental organizations, public and private colleges, media, etc at the local level. Similarly, the institute prioritizes cooperation and collaboration with central governmental think tanks, ministries, central universities, public and private colleges, developmental
organizations, independent think tanks, media houses, civil society, etc at the national level. The institute explores the possibility of cooperation and collaboration with independent and governmental think tanks, universities, international organizations, and media at the international and global levels. For this, the institute will establish its contact centers at seven provinces and ‘GARDEN Chapters’ in different countries in the world to achieve the long-term vision of the institute.
